ABOUT

Born in 1995, Dominik Jaksic is active as composer, conductor, pianist, writer and pedagogue. He is conductor of Academic choir Celje. Dominik served three years as artistic director of "Music afternoon with Anton Lajovic" and conductor of Academic choir Risto Savin.

In 2019, soprano Maja Triler and Dominik as pianist have been awarded as "Youth PerArtem" to have a concerts of lieders. In 2020, Dominik held music lectures on the Slovene national radio ARS, Italian radio RAI and wrote articles for papers Družina and Delo.

​Besides studying in Ljubljana, Dominik has been receiving knowledge from the most prominent composers, conductors and musicians such as John Corigliano, Marton Illes, Gary Carpenter, Vito Žuraj, Ursula Oppens, Thomas A. Troge, Berislav Šipuš, Davorin Kempf, Ambrož Čopi ... He started with music education at his parents (theory and piano) and grandmother (cello and harmony).

Dominik’s compositions have been performed on many stages in Slovenia and abroad. Opus includes many works, from lieders, chamber music, piano compositions, concertos, to choral and orchestral works and a cantata.
